Now when I have to use manual GPS encoding I just use a navigation app like GaiaGPS and export a GPX track, and then use HoudahGeo for the tagging, instead of Lightroom.

Too bad it was the bomb because it allowed on to take a picture of a q code to set the clock differential. I used gps4cam, but I think it's gone out of development. Subsidiary question: Is it best to rely on GPS only (a relatively weak signal but probably more accurate), or allow the phone also to use also triangulation with mobile data sources (which are probably stronger but less accurate)? There seem to be occasional random time shifts - even after I have been very careful to synchronise the clock on the camera with the clock on the phone.Īre there other geotagging apps that people have found reliable? When importing the log into Lightroom and syncing with photos, I find (a) the accuracy is very variable and (b) a lot of pictures are wrongly tagged because the app is getting the time wrong.
